TRANSITIONS Coach

Global Moves. Seize the opportunity!

Helping expat spouses re-discover who they are and create their life after an international move

Is This You?

Are you lost in the transition from one global location to another?

Does this expatriate wife sound like you?

Do you feel at loose ends as your husband goes off to work and your children settle in to the school routine?

Does a day without friends or structure seem overwhelming?

Do you find the smallest errands ridiculously complicated?

Do you worry about family members "back home"; your college children and elderly grandparents?

Do you long for the old routine with a familiar sense of connection?

Do you email with recent colleagues only to find you miss work and they can't relate at all to your new life?

Do you want to get your feet on the ground but don't know how to begin?

Do you know you want an interesting life but need support to develop new goals?

I know it probably looks like every other expatriate is landing on her feet, and you are alone in your struggles. My experience is that, in a small expat community, no one wants to look like they are struggling. We put on a cheerful face and as a result may not get the support we would like.

I work with brave, daring women who are willing to throw the familiar out the window to support their husband's career, broaden their horizons and give their children an incredible chance to learn about being a global citizen. That doesn't mean you don't need support and someone to walk beside you as you redefine yourself and recreate a home and a life for your family. You are entitled to get things settled and running smoothly for yourself. You deserve it and the whole family will benefit.

If you are feeling overwhelmed by the isolation, it can be hard to summon up the energy and drive on your own.

Imagine being able to work in a supportive relationship on your ideal expat life.

What are your goals and desires?
What steps do you need to take to get started?
What is the end result you are looking for?
What is getting in your way?
If you could get past the hurdles what would you life look like?

Are you ready to taking the steps to define what is important to you and get moving in the right direction?

I have been in your shoes. As a trailing spouse who left work and followed her husband to Asia for 2 years I can relate to many of your challenges. I left aging parents and college kids behind. Our departure coincided with my first year as an empty nester. With no work and no kids, I didn't know how to begin to have a life. You may feel alone or unusual but believe me these moves are incredibly challenging. I do believe this is an incredible opportunity for you and your family. I just donŐt believe you have to do it alone without support.
